Is something in your home under a recall?
Scan a barcode or take a photo. RecallCheck looks it up in US food and product recall records. Photos stay on your phone.
Saved items
Kept only in this browser. RecallCheck checks them again when you open it and points out recall notices published since you saved them.
Check an item
For things without a barcode, like furniture, toys and chargers. RecallCheck compares your photo with product photos from US product recall notices since 2018. A second photo of the label, with the model number in focus, lets it check that number too.
The first photo search downloads the image model and text reader (about 31 MB) once. Both run on your phone; the photo is not uploaded.
How the check works
Barcode. An exact match against barcodes printed in US recall records. Food recalls often list a barcode; household product recalls rarely do, so for those use Photo or Name.
Photo. An image model turns your photo into numbers on your phone and finds recall photos that look alike. It shows possible matches and how to tell whether yours is included. It cannot confirm a match. A text reader also looks for a model number on the photo; if a recall notice names that number, the recall is shown first.
No match means the item was not found in these records. It does not mean the item is safe.
